Napier is a city on the eastern coast of the North Island of New Zealand. It was a great day, warm but windy, partly cloudy at first, then it went sunny.

The trip begins with a bus following the old trails of Maori and the early settlers up into inland Hawke’s Bay. We pass the old stage stop of Te Pohue and up to the ‘saddle’ at the top of the range 1,000 meters above sea level.

We took a bus ride to a staging area to get jackets, pants, boots and instructions. We then continued to Mohaka River on the bus. There were 9 in our raft, and it was 1,2,3 rapid's on the river.

We floated and paddled and rocked and rolled for about 3 hours.

After the trip, we had a light a light lunch before we started back to the ship, a lovely time was had by all.
